Our Curriculum

Language

The three main languages (English, Bahasa Malaysia & Chinese) are being taught. For 3 & 4 age groups, the emphasis is on English language; the bridging programme will be introduced when children are 5- & 6-year old through BM & Chinese lessons. 

Xaris Science

Xaris Science was initially a programme franchised from Canada. Its unique contents with activities  encourage creative learning. This Science programme was later further developed by Xaris to aim at developing children’s curiosity and potential in Science by providing them with entertaining and educational activities that  instill a clear understanding of what Science is really about and how it affects the world. Children learn to observe, record, summarize and draw conclusions.

Exercises of Practical Life

The purpose of the Practical Life curriculum in Montessori is to improve concentration, co-ordination, control, independence and order which lay the foundation for learning.

As every parent knows young children want to be with adults and to take part in the daily activities of an adult. The Montessori Practical Life materials allow them to do just that and they provide real life experiences for children.

Cultural Studies

The Cultural Studies curriculum provides children with an opportunity to explore the large world. The cultural area includes geography, history, botany, zoology and science. 

Critical Thinking Games

Critical thinking skills is important in helping children to make good and right decision. Our Critical Thinking Games enable children to develop problem-solving and reasoning skills. This experience is helpful for children to understand the consequences of actions and solve problems in everyday life. 

Sand Play

Sand Play is a time for children to explore through the sense of touch which further develops the fine motor skills, besides promoting creativity and imagination.

Cookery

Cookery is a fun & practical learning activity for children, incorporating math, language & science, besides promoting independence.

Music & Movement

Music & Movement go hand in hand. Children respond naturally to music with movements & by being active. Music helps children learn about rhythm, besides developing motor coordination.

Mathematics

Mathematical concepts are easily found in children’s daily routine and activities and they play a major role in children’s development. These concepts are much more abstract than learning and memorizing words and symbols. We have a variety of teaching aids to help children understand key concepts of Mathematics such as classification, number, quantity, operation, measurement, geometry & problem solving.

Xaris Gym

Xaris Gym is a programme specially designed and developed by an experienced, international coach from China. This programme is aimed at developing a good sense of balance, strength, flexibility, agility, endurance and control among young children.  The movements involved in gymnastics contribute to the development of gross motor skills. Alertness, precision, boldness, self-confidence and self-discipline are among mental traits that can also be developed through gymnastics.

Sensorial

The sensorial materials facilitate the understanding of abstract ideas. Working with them, the child begins to understand concepts, judgments and develop observation skills. The materials are graded to suit the developmental level of each child and has self correcting elements which encourage auto- education, which means that the child can correct himself and experience success.

Dramatic Play

Dramatic Play is a type of play where children accept or assign roles, and then act them out. It is a time for children to break through the walls of reality, pretending to be someone or something different from themselves and dramatize situations & actions to go along with the roles they have chosen to play. The themes for  dramatic play are selected based on the children’s community and the materials are usually made by our team of teachers.  

Water Play

Water Play is any form of play with water. It enhances motor skills, problem-solving and language development. It also promotes social emotional growth. Water Play builds the foundation for understanding various mathematical and scientific concepts.

Art & Craft

Art activities develop the feeling skills & promote self expression. Craft activities develop thinking, relating & coordinating skills.  Art & Crafts offer children endless opportunities to learn by doing.

Gardening

In gardening, planting seeds & watching them grow helps children learn about the growth process,  life cycle of plants, the environment and the food they eat. Weeding & watering plants encourage physical activity besides teaching responsibility and care for the environment.

Storytelling

Storytelling enhances the listening skills of children. It introduces new vocabulary to children, besides increasing their knowledge.
